ANCIENT WISDOM COMBINED WITH MODERN SCIENCE

Whether you're contemplating starting a family, have been met with fertility challenges, or are planning for assisted reproductive treatments, I combine the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine with evidence-based fertility acupuncture so that it can be tailored to your specific needs. I provide care that acknowledges your unique medical background and the emotions that come with this significant life phase.  I have over 15 years of clinical fertility acupuncture experience working in some of the busiest fertility clinics in London. I now offer all my support and care in my Dorset fertility clinic based in Christchurch.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND FERTILITY ACUPUNCTURE

The intersection of ancient practices and modern science is where fertility acupuncture shines. A number of scientific studies suggest that acupuncture can support reproductive health in multiple ways. For example, research has shown that acupuncture can increase blood flow to reproductive organs, thereby potentially improving the lining of the uterus and the quality of eggs produced.

Furthermore, acupuncture has been noted to assist in the regulation of hormone levels, contributing to a more regular menstrual cycle and better ovulatory function. Many physicians and fertility specialists now recognise the merits of incorporating acupuncture into fertility treatments, and some studies suggest that it can even improve the effectiveness of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).

A study in the journal Fertility and Sterility reported that acupuncture increased the odds of pregnancy with IVF by 65%. Another study in the British Medical Journal showed that acupuncture could significantly improve the rates of live births among women undergoing IVF.

The benefits of acupuncture extend beyond just fertility-specific outcomes. Research indicates that acupuncture can significantly reduce stress hormones, such as cortisol. In the realm of fertility, stress management is crucial; heightened stress levels have been linked to lower fertility rates as it can exacerbate hormonal imbalances.
